Forestry Department Forests are Shingu Shoko’s greatest asset

Shingu Shoko was already managing its own Japanese larch forests in the Toro mountains throughout Kushiro by 1924.
In 1938, the company broke off as a separate Forestry Department and began a series of planned afforestation products, primarily involving Japanese larch in Hokkaido and Japanese cedar and cypress on the main island of Honshu.

The company experienced a great deal of changes following the Second World War-including the purchase of uncultivated land. Afforestation projects have steadily advanced in Hokkaido since 1955, and the company now creates and manages 5,000 hectares of forest (half cedar and half cypress) on Honshu. We will continue to coordinate the felling of forest units that have reached their cutting cycle and periodic thinning activities to maintain a balance between planting and harvesting volume.

Shingu Shoko was honored to receive its Responsible Forest Management from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) in October 2005 for the 1,234-hectare Furuume Forest spread throughout the Bihoro district of Hokkaido.

FSC forestry certifications recognize environmentally sound, sustainably operated forests worldwide. Shingu Shoko-run forests were selected for the honor as representatives of a group certification covering the entire Bihoro Forestry Cooperative. Our company remains committed to managing its forests in a way that protects our ecosystems and landscape.

Our forestry equipment is carefully examined and selected for use in Shingu Shoko forests and mills as well.Since the company was founded, we have always acted in accordance with the slogan, "make the products you want to buy".
Are looking forward to taking our development projects to the next level as we move into the future.
