Shingu Shoko’s Strengths
Strengths of our Lumber Business
Having established its foundation by supplying sleepers for the Manchurian Railway at the time of its founding, the company is now involved in everything from lumber import trading to wholesale and manufacturing, from upstream to downstream in the lumber distribution chain.
The company has pioneered the sale of North American hardwood lumber and is currently the only company in Hokkaido with a JAS veneer laminated lumber plant. We have been a top-runner as a lumber supplier for over 100 years.
Strengths of our Machinery Business
As a comprehensive manufacturer and trading company of forestry machinery, we import, manufacture, and sell a wide range of products, from chainsaws and brush cutters for silvicultural logging to harvesters, grapples, and other high-performance forestry machinery, as well as various processing machines such as firewood splitters and firewood production machines.

Strengths of our Forestry business
We manage and control approximately 5,000 hectares of company-owned forests throughout Japan to secure a stable supply of high-quality domestic timber, and since 2005, we have obtained forest certification for each of our company-owned forests to ensure sustainable forest management.

Acquisition of Environmental Standards
Acquisition of FSC® Forest Certification (FM Certification)
Furuume Forest acquired the certification in October 2005.
Acquisition of SGEC forest certification
Bikuni and Ozawa forests acquired in October 2012, Kamisatsunai forest in March 2016, and Kodaira, Chikubetsu, and Syozanbetsu forests in June 2022.
Acquisition of Hokkaido Environmental Management System Standard (HES)
Based on the international standard ISO 14001, the HES was established as an environmental management system that can be easily implemented by many organizations, including many small and medium-sized enterprises and various groups, with the cooperation of economic organizations, environment-related organizations, and administrative agencies (Hokkaido and Sapporo City), and led by the Federation of Hokkaido Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It is an environmental standard that is easier to understand, less expensive, and easier to implement, and was created to support environmental conservation activities and management stability.
Sapporo, Tokyo, and Osaka offices have obtained FSC CoC certification (license number: FSC®C116603).
We are responsible for identifying and managing PEFC-certified lumber as it passes through various distribution and processing channels before reaching the final user.
FSC-CoC certification was obtained on May 27, 2013.
PEFC-CoC obtained on May 17, 2013.
